Air movers are the footsoldiers. Refrigerant dehumidifiers are the sergeants. The battle against water and sewer damage is won or lost by the ratio of evaporation to dehumidification. Too much evaporation can cause secondary damage as unaffected materials absorb moisture. Too much dehumidification can also cause secondary damage as materials shrink, crack, and split. The perfect ratio is achieved by regular psychrometric monitoring of material and air moisture levels throughout the drying process.
